Wow…
Humph!!…did you hear that…or is it just my tinnitus again? Â I think it was the sound of me falling onto the sofa from a parallel universe; where the last few weeks have spun by in a blur and may have possibly been the fastest few weeks in history.Â
I was hoping to have posted this weekend about the second tea cosy in the Grandma Collection, but that may well be next week end now…so sorry. It would have happened, but I think that in exiting the parallel universe I left my little pencil case of hooks as I can’t seem to find them…most distressing.Â
There has been quite a bit of Christmas hooking going on, but that will have to remain under wraps for now, enough to say I am in love with the pattern and can’t wait to share it with you all.Â
So, whilst I acclimatise back into the earthly realm, I will leave you with a little snap shot of the last few weeks…

My PHD!
I thought it about time I returned, I know its been a while and it has been far longer than I had planned. So I return with a familiar confession.Â
I have come to realise that I am actually not as clever as I like to think and so this post is about my PHD….Projects Half Done! I much prefer this to the acronym WIP (works in progress) as PHD sounds so much more positive and well….lets be frank; what I am about to show you is not in progress. Not even by any stretch of the imagination! Abandoned may be a better description.
 So, first out of the box is the baby blanket awaiting the hooking of one final square and then construction. So close to a finish, but I need some more cotton.
Then there is this linen stitch blanket…I abandoned hooking because I felt my design may be a bit to fussy…I’m undecided. Do I continue or rip it back and reclaim the wool?….I’ve done that before.
Then there is my knitting loom project, a sumptuous alpaca cowl…I really must restart this…if I can remember how to that is!
The rainbow V stitch blanket is still on the go, not abandoned at all but most definitely a PHD!
And it is with this in mind I need you all to do me a small favour…if you don’t mind that is. If you ever read my words that might even hint I am going to study again then I would like you to hit me over the head with something very heavy!!!

Down but not out….
You lovelies who read my blog regularly will probably have noticed that I am not producing so much hookiness of late. You will also know that I am up to my eyes in assignments, exams, placements and juggling the family.
 It has really bothered me lately that my hook is not frantically producing crochet lovliness at the rate I was before and if I’m honest it has got me feeling a bit blue.  Admiring other hookers (you know what I mean!) being so efficiently productive caused me to ponder if I should continue my blog… after all this space is predominantly for such hooky show offing and if I haven’t got it to show off…. then what should I do? And then I came across thisÂ
I love this little space that I get to write in.Â
I love this little space because it links me to communities and wonderful people…just like you all across the world.
I love this little space even if no one visits or presses like because it’s mine, because this space celebrates my journey.
 So I’m not out…I’m just slower!

Looking for the lovliness…
Well, I’m sorry for my noted absence, there are just two weeks left until exam and essay deadlines and to be truthful I’m worried that one of the boys might fall into the laundry pile and never be seen again!
I’m shattered and busy, busy, busy… my mind has many yarny creations whizzing around and I really need some colour therapy, but I feel overwhelmed and hence my hook has fallen silent (temporarily). So to keep my creative mind sane I have been looking for the lovliness that surrounds me daily… and taking photo’s…this is April.
But mostly these lovelies have been the loveliest…

Take a little look at this…
I couldn’t help it, I know I shouldn’t have: but I have been feeling very overwhelmed with this…
For the most part I can convince myself with the romantic notion of  setting my boys a good example of being a hard working Momma at University, with striving ambition and an avid determination to follow your dreams.  But, (huge sigh and just a little teardrop!)…right now it sucks!  So you see I couldn’t help but open my birthday present a whole week early.
It is helping me with my mental health as I am so busy concentrating on learning a new skill, that there is no room for anxious thoughts about essays.
Seed stitch…oh yeah!

Easter yarn shortage…
Following some much needed soul restoration on Friday, the theme has lingered here at the nest over the Easter weekend; and I can deleriously report is continuing today too.  However, hooking  came to a very abrupt halt yesterday!
After a chaotic but funny Easter egg hunt, in which I muddled the clues up somehow; Â and hearty singing of praises in church. Followed a mixed weather walk just down by the brook,
up over the big field and back home through the daffodils…my favourite flowers in the whole world.  Â
I love carefully picking my way back home through this flowery path…
Back home for some quiet hooking
which was fine until…
I realised I had  only this much red cotton left and four robins nest motifs left to square…I told you the hooking came to an abrupt halt!  Which was only soothed by this wonderful Easter tray that I received from my lovely brother and Sister in Law (Thank you Kate xx)
Which proved just perfect to hold my coffee whilst I ordered more yarn

weekend update and a BIG thank you…
So how was your weekend?
I spent mine amongst the study books, so didn’t get much hooking time. Â I did have way too many children in the house, making a lot of noise (not great for studying!)
I also had family over for Sunday lunch, which was so great to just kick back and relax. Â Although I didn’t get to hang out with my yarn stash much, I did manage some sneaky hooking during a long game of monopoly.
and I just want to say a BIG thank you to everyone who has sent me comments about the new look around here…you are always so positive and it means the world to me
