quick and easy and just a little bit cute.

using hot glue gun, glue a button to the top of a large paperclip…it is a good idea to bend the paperclip before gluing so that the button does not pop off on first use!

Again, using a hot glue gun, glue a crochet flower onto the button to finish.  There are many free crochet flower patterns on the internet…but to get started you can take a look here.  Simple.

The Lion, the witch, the wardrobe and the sunflower…

I spent such a lovely afternoon at the theatre yesterday, in fact I have done nothing but have lovely afternoons lately.

Good old Santa left us a family treat at the bottom of our stocking, tickets to see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and it was simply MAGICAL, if you get the opportunity to book and go it is well worth a visit.

The Rep, is such a small theatre, but a gem in the heart of the city.  I can honestly say we were all enthralled.

Mucky pups and cotton flowers

It’s been a while since I have been able to take the dogs out just by myself, but today I got that chance…even if it was raining!

the dogs enjoyed it...
the dogs enjoyed it…

Muddy and wet, they had fun and I had some fresh air and some space…as well as two very wet, mucky pups that I had to clean.

It was grey and raining when I set out, but the blue sky toiled hard to peak out

and because it was so wet it seemed I had the whole field to myself…

and just as I started home, that blue sky began to break through

the abandoned nest in the bare tree got me thinking about the spring, and so…

Out came the cotton and my trusty hook, once the dogs were cleaned and settled,

Equilibrium

Well, not much hooking has been going on here at the Robin’s nest, mainly because a huge amount of this has been going on…

assignments...aaagggh!!!
assignments…aaagggh!!!

A whole lot of health policy and child development theory and research is yet to come, looming in the shadows.  I mourn my part time days gone by, even though this is what I longed for not so long ago.

But, just look at this…

This is what our lovely postman delivered today and I was reminded in that transaction at the front door, of that lovely word ‘BRAVE’… I have been doing so much ‘advancing’ lately that I have neglected the ‘resting’.  So this evening I am resting and hooking a project that I am going to call ‘Nicola Florence’…an art piece, which I will chat to you about next time…
