I thought you might like another little update on the slow CAL (crochet a long) I’m participating in which is being hosted by the lovely Eleanora over at coastal crochet. You can also find lots of other amazing blankets and makers participating in this CAL across social media by searching #seasidestashbustingblanket.
You can read about my weeks 1 – 4 just here
and my weeks 5 – 8 just here
But let me show you weeks 9 – 12. I have enjoyed these weeks so much, hooking out and about in town
The blanket is certainly growing larger and no longer resembles a scarf…in fact it is way past scarf stage now and is handy for keeping my lap warm whilst I hook away.
I think this will be the last close up picture where the whole of the blanket will fit into frame.
I’m still ploughing through my stash too, so this makes me doubly thrilled with this blanket. I find I am really looking forward to every Monday and Friday when the next rows are released. I love the surprise of not knowing what the next set of rows will be.
One of these light years I’ gonna take part in a CAL. Would’ve liked this one; because the others I’ve seen are all complex, and I’d be not so much excited as filled with dread re the next instalment.
Your work is lovely, Nicola !

It’s not too late to join in! We’re going slow so plenty of time to catch up… 😊

Oh, you should still, you wouldn’t even need to catch up as all the rows are on Eleanora’s blog, you could just do your 4 rows a week or less even…or you could catch up. Just think of the stash it will bust!

Thank you Eleanora, I love that my stash is going down and so does Mr R…what he doesn’t realise is that is making space for some new yarn!

I am so loving this blanket. It is stunning. I have seen so many colour combinations, from various crocheters. Just the ideal pattern for each one in the mood to make a blanket. And not rushing it either makes it a great project.
Have fun making it and enjoy. 🙂

It’s very cool! She thought so hard about it too and tried different ideas out before going back to her first choice

The patterns in this are fantastic! And your colour choices are really lovely. I bet you can’t wait for each week to come round. I wonder how much longer before it becomes impractical to take out and crochet? I guess that’s when you start something new at the same time 🙂

Thank you Catherine I don’t think it will be much longer, but I have plenty of smaller items on the go too, so I can still take something to hook with me 😊

That is starting to look really fabulous! I love the colors! Me too- as someone else said- one of these days I am going to take part in one of these…maybe after we move and get settled.

Thank you Mrs N. The best thing about this CAL is the community it has created. The fact that I will have one gorgeous blanket at the end has become a secondary pleasure x

I was thinking about that…I m thinking that after we move to a smaller home I will have more time for things like that. I’m looking forward to it.
